ER, we have a Ski resort 30 miles north of here.  They use a snow machine most of the time.

But today with all the real stuff on the ground, they have announced it is too cold to SKI ? and are closing.

So cold. It's -10°c outside and 1°c inside. I wish I had a fireplace, I'd burn my kitchen cabinets for warmth.

As A few of you will notice, one of my (Very few)strong points is meteorology----(Not spelling Grin)
The current weather conditions developing means that after this lot of rain/snow you are all getting passes through, there is massive potential for one of the biggest freezes for a very long time.
High pressure extending from Greenland will be stopping any mild weather from pushing in and if it actually tries to the middle of next week will be very interesting with mild meeting cold, heaps of snow will ensue.
Take care and wrap up warm----it's gonna get,VERY COLD THE NEXT WEEK OR SO.

Things are shaping up quite nicely for another long cold spell from the early part of next week!
No-one has forecast this yet,but reading my chilblains and the tea-leaves puts me poles apart Grin

I am  75 % confident on this one compared to 95 % last time.

Seriously though be prepared, this is gonna be a long winter, the milder weather has managed in just now, but the mild/cold struggle still has a long way to go!

The Greenland block/Scandinavian block is re-energising Wink

(P.S) i AM ALSO a sales agent for panic buying from most stores apart from ONE and you know which one that is on my 'Hit-list)---I am on a fairly useful stipend. Grin

Watch this space--next week

It's here already down my way! About 6 inches this morning & still falling.

Roads not gritted....ABS locked on my in to work...had enough. Why can't I work for some company that gives up & goes home at the first sight of snow?

Well it has been the coldest winter for three decades, fact!
Though in the grand scheme of things, this winter is just 'a blip'
The general trend is showing us the last few winter decades, are actually showing a trend for milder winters,
(Along with Mike and Bernie) Grin
This year's bitterly cold temperatures, have indeed been a big exception,to the mild warming pattern.
As I have previously stated, instead of us attracting milder weather from the south-west,cold air has belted us from the Baltic.
I.M.H.O,Generally if milder winters keep happening over the next few decades and maybe(Which I think WILL HAPPENbecome even milder,it will then become pretty convincing, that a definite global warming trend,is the prime rudimentary factor.

Mrs R' has just put in her bedding plants, stating her father never planted before the first day of June.
Yep,you guessed it,frost forecast up here this week.
The weather out here has changed overnight.
All the fog has gone,it is about 15c colder and 'What's occuring'? sleet and drizzle just now.
Enjoy the remnants of your sunny spell.
It is all about to change Sick
